Knysna Cycle Tour adds Buffalo category to 2017 MTB race

This year the Momentum Knysna Cycle Tour will introduce the new MTB weight division, the TREAD Buffalo Category, to the 50 km mountain bike race on Saturday, 8 July.

The new weight category was created by Sean Badenhorst, founder of the TREAD – Mountain Biking with Soul brand in 2014 to enable heavier riders to compete competitively in major races. By adding a Buffalo Category, the Knysna Cycle Tour will be giving a competitive element to those mountain bikers who cannot compete with lighter, faster riders.

Riders who weigh 90 kg or more can become a TREAD Buffalo simply by registering on the website: www.treadbuffalo.co.za. You will then confirm your participation via a weigh-in on the scales at race registration. Or you can sign up at registration on Friday, 7 July 2017.
