This route takes you along the Concordia Road which offers stunning views of the Knysna lagoon and some undulating riding until you get to Uniondale road. From this point, you have continual climbing until you pass the Diepwalle Big Tree and Forest Station. The 42km group turn off at the SANPARKS Kom-se-Pad.
This gravel road ride is in virgin forest ….there is a chance of seeing a wild elephant! Ride to the peak at the Pimple and descend to the Forester’s Hut and then onto the Gouna road where you pass the Gouna pump station with a final short 2.6km climb to the finish at the top of Simola.
The Reward – riders descend the Simola Hill -at leisure – to “The Farm” where refreshments and food can be purchased.

From Buffelsnek proceed to a turn west that tacks the riders back in the indigenous forest again till you get to the Rodebossie trail hut.
Continue on still interesting jeep (single track) to Kom se Pad. From here follow the 45km route down the Gouna Hill over the Gouna River and up the Gouna climb to the back to the finish at Top of Simola.
Then it’s time to relax and party at “The Farm”!
Situated along Old Cape Road, perched on a hill amidst the verdant vegetation of Knysna is The Farm, venue for Day 1 of the 2022 Knysna Cycle Tour. Refreshments and great food will be available at The Farm on both Friday and Saturday. It’s the perfect venue to wait for your partner or friends to finish the race. Don’t forget to bring along the kids’ bicycles as there is a lovely play park and cycle park for the children to enjoy free of charge.

PARKING
You may park on the side of the road or at designated parking area on the field behind The Farm – marshals will be on standby to direct you. No cars may park at the start area– it is an uphill walk from your car to the top of the hill – allow for 20mins from The Farm.
SPECTATORS
Spectators are welcome at the top of Simola for both the start and finish – Seattle Coffee and music presented by Coke will be on standby to keep you warm.
PRIZEGIVING
Prizegiving will take place 13h00 on Saturday, 02 July at The Farm – all welcome to attend. Note that a lucky draw will be held for those at the venue.
