Get ready to ride in one of the most scenic road cycling events on the Garden Route! The Knysna Cycle Tour 2025 Road Races offer two exciting distances — a 50km ride perfect for enthusiasts and a challenging 100km race for the more competitive cyclist.
Both races start and finish at the Knysna High School Sports Fields, the heart of the Knysna Oyster Festival venue. Expect incredible views, rolling climbs, and the camaraderie of fellow cyclists on a well-managed, traffic-controlled route.
Whether you’re a pro racer, e-bike enthusiast, or a weekend rider, there’s a group for you — with start batches catering for different categories and abilities.

Start at 08:00
Venue: Knysna High School Sports Fields (Oyster Festival venue)
Start Location: Waterfront Drive, Knysna
Route Overview
Lead and traffic vehicles will guide both rides along the route.
First 6km: Flat and fast through Knysna.
Kyters Nek climb: ± 2.5km climb shortly after leaving town.
Groen Vlei Lake: Ride past this beautiful stretch towards Sedgefield (25km from Knysna).
50km Road Race:
Turn around in Sedgefield and head back to Knysna via the same N2 route.
2 x Kyters Nek climbs (out & back).
2 water points along the route.
Ideal for intermediate riders and e-bike participants.
100km Road Race:
Continue past Sedgefield, turning off to Hoekwill.
Tackle the Serpentine climb up to Hoekwill.
Return via the undulating N2 back to Knysna.
Suited for experienced riders looking for a competitive and rewarding challenge.
